Balkan Sunflowers Kosova (BSFK) started to implement 2020 summer program in 5 Learning Centers.

Approximately 500 most disadvantaged children from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, and other communities as well improve their learning and social skills in a fun and creative program environment, contributing to their ability to succeed in school and in life.

BSFK designed two different books of activities for children attending grades 1 and 2 and children attending grades 3-5. Children received printed copy of the book. BSFK staff and tutors created small groups of children and will have online meetings with them for 4 weeks. Children will be guided to implement activities in their own, with their family members, or in the neigberhood with their peers.

Objectives of the Summer Program:

  1. To reinforce the readiness of approximately 500 children to enter the next school grade;
  2. To build literacy and community involvement of children who are not in school, and who may be motivated by the summer program to return to school;
  3. To improve the child-centered and non-formal pedagogic skills of 15 staff and 30 tutors from 5 learning centers; ;
  4. And for children to have a summer that is memorable and fun!
